\(= \frac{1}{(1+\frac{an}{am})}+\frac{1}{(1+\frac{am}{an})} \)

\(= \frac{am}{(am+an)}+\frac{an}{(am+an)} \)

\(= \frac{(am+an)}{(am+an)} \)

\(= 1\)
